13 aug, and rag

School is starting on 13 aug! Argh I can't believe it!. I hardly feel like I've had a break. Where did those 8 months go? 6 months lab job + 1 week local missions + 1/2 week cameron highlands + 1 week orientation camps + class/og/church outings + rag stuff... Haha ok now I know (:

Ah ragragragragrag. As rag i/c I feel somewhat guilty for my og's blatant lack of effort in coming down to work on the float, our schedule being something like this: come down on alternate days, 45 min actual work, 15 min complaining about how boring this is, 1 hr lunch. But I honestly can't blame them, considering that every time we come down we end up sticking little bits of white paper onto clouds (which so far have been identified by passersby as rocks, brain tumours, spaceships...anything but clouds) which is not exactly the most scintillating job. Or waiting for ppl to come with potato starch so we can make glue. Personally I think the whole thing is a massive waste of reso...

in between

haha unlike most people who seem to be pretty bored now, i'm actually really enjoying this in between period! in which i mainly just sleep, read, fiddle around with guitar or piano, help my mum with baking/cooking/ironing etc, catch up with friends, go cycling and ACTUALLY GO ONLINE, to the great surprise of many ppl as i normally use msn, in a friend's words, 'once in a blue moon'.

after the a level mugging period, 6 month job, local missions etc, these 2 weeks worth of free time to do my own thing are really precious. i'm kind of dreading having to get back into the busyness of starting school again. esp knowing that 5 years +++ of solid mugging lie ahead. the horror...

i'm really thankful to have had time to spend with friends, whether through sleepovers, msn, phone or just meeting up to talk about bo liao stuff together. today, i met up for dinner (and aimless wandering around shopping centres in Orchard while marvelling at the thi...

Cameron Highlands 17-20 Jun '07

After many months of "after A levels, let's...", it was pretty exciting to finally go on a holiday together! We (Clare, Farah, Lois, MJ and I) took a night bus from Golden Mile and reached there next morning, then went to the tea plantations and tried a pot of the tea there, climbed the tower on top of Gunung Brinchang (the highest peak) for a really spectacular view, went on a fun but muddy walk through the mossy forest (bit like Fangorn in LOTR) to learn about the uses of the plants there, and visited the orang asli settlement. (Mixed feelings about this last one- while it's good that they have access to more study and work opportunities, who'd want to have your home used as a tourist attraction?) Being pretty stoned from the long bus ride, we spent the rest of the day slacking in the hotel.

The next day I woke early up to the faint sound of "Amazing Grace" being played on a wooden flute. I went down to take photos of the beautiful scenery and to find out who was playing, and ende...
